What We Do

In 1983 Jan Bunnell, the founder and director, opened the Claremont Soup Kitchen. We are a non-profit organization  and have come a long way since we have opened.

The Claremont Soup Kitchen is a non-profit community agency. We are committed to serving any individuals and families needing assistance in Sullivan County by offering meals and grocery products as well as referrals to other agencies and organizations for services and aid.

In order to serve as a positive factor healing force in the spirits and lives of needy individuals, the Claremont Soup Kitchen strives to provide encouragement, direction, and material assistance to promote growth and wholesome independence with respect and dignity.

Every person who comes to us for assistance is welcomed, without regard to race, sex, age, color, national origin, handicap or religious preference.

Hours & Location: We serve dinner every Monday-Thursday from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. We are located at 51-53 Central Street in Claremont, NH at the old Knights of Columbus building. We are open for food box pickups from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

"The needs of the homeless and hungry are great, and government cannot meet them. So the question becomes what would you do? And the answer cannot be made of words alone. While the right words may satisfy the comfortable, only the right deeds will comfort the needy"
